About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer for Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT). The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT, we are seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to collaborate on data protection implementations related to Data Loss Prevention tools.

The Data Protection Engineering (DPE) consists of three Feature Teams that work within an Agile model. They are the DLP & UEBA (Data Loss Prevention and User Entity and Behavior Analytics), DI&A (Data Ingestion and Automation), and India-Data Loss Prevention. DPE engages with various lines of business, to include but not limited to Cybersecurity, Chief Technology Office, etc. This role will sit within our Integrated Governance Solutions team which manages an application for Data Loss Prevention.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events

  • Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies

  • Provide security consulting on medium projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards

  • Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security

  • Review and correlate security logs

  • Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity

  • Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining applications in both Linux or Windows server environments.

  • 1+ years of experience working with data loss prevention or data protection technologies.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of large enterprise experience.

  • Experience implementing or managing a Symantec Data Loss Prevention application environment; especially endpoint agent, data at rest, network inspection, and cloud deployment and configuration.

  • Strong Information Security technical skills and understanding of data protection best practices and policies

  • Experience working with vendors to achieve vulnerability remediation, hotfix deployment, and other time critical strategic initiatives. 

  • Experience creating and maintaining bash, PowerShell and/or Python scripts

  • Experience managing technical business processes such as: change management, business continuity planning, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure procurement, large technical project coordination, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex analytical questions

  • Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth
