Your Mission: The Senior Director of Information Technology is a strategic leader responsible for aligning CASL’s technology infrastructure and digital strategy with its mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role ensures that CASL’s systems are secure, scalable, and responsive—supporting efficient service delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term organizational growth. 
By driving innovation, enhancing digital access, and optimizing internal systems, the Senior Director plays a key role in equipping staff with the tools they need to serve CASL’s diverse community effectively and with integrity. This leader fosters a forward-thinking, data-informed IT environment that supports client-focused services and mission-critical operations, while cultivating a service-oriented culture that prioritizes user experience, responsive support, and strong cross-departmental collaboration.

Your Impact: As a Senior Director of Information Technology, you will: 
Key Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a forward-thinking IT strategy that aligns with CASL’s mission, strategic goals, and priorities. 
  • Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols, and data management systems to ensure resilience, security, and compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and the user experience for employees, donors, and stakeholders. 
  • Manage cloud-based environments such as Microsoft Azure, ensuring security, performance, and integration with core systems. 
  • Provide strategic oversight of technology budgets, vendor management, and procurement to ensure sustainable and cost-effective IT investments. 
  • Build and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, customer service, and continuous learning. 
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices that uphold data privacy, information security, and business continuity. 
  • Collaborate with the COO and senior leaders, and department leads to identify opportunities for technological innovation, systems integration, and process improvement. 
  • Oversee the effective use of enterprise applications, databases, and cloud-based solutions to support day-to-day operations and long-term goals. 
  • Lead the transition from on-premises Active Directory to Azure Active Directory, ensuring secure identity management and alignment with CASL’s broader cloud strategy. 
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit technology governance, including donor data protection and funder reporting requirements. 
  • Advise the CEO and Board on IT and cybersecurity matters, providing insights into emerging trends and long-term digital strategy. 
  • Represent CASL in external partnerships, vendor negotiations, and technology networks to advance shared goals and capacity building. 

Must Have - To thrive in this role, you should have:


  • Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required 
  • At least 8 years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally within a nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven environment. 
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation, enterprise system implementations, and cross-organizational technology initiatives. 
  • Experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and service-level agreements. 
  • Prior experience engaging with Boards or Technology Committees on strategic planning and technology governance.

  • Skills and Knowledge 
  • In-depth understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data management. 
  • Experience managing cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, including identity and access management, with preferred experience in transitioning from on-premises Active Directory to Azure AD. 
  • Strong strategic thinking and project leadership skills with the ability to align technology initiatives with organizational goals. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across both technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and fostering a culture of innovation, responsive customer service, and continuous improvement. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to data protection and nonprofit compliance.  

Nice to Haves

  • Master’s degree 
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce (CRM and fundraising), MS365, Asana, Paylocity, Sage Intacct, and electronic medical records systems is a plus. 
  • Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, PMP, or other relevant credentials. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods, with occasional movement. 
  • Occasionally moves objects weighing more than 25 pounds. 

Environment and Scheduling:

  • Work is performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary. 
Compensation & Benefits: 
This position offers a salary range of $150,000 - $170,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. Join CASL and unlock a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your loved ones.
