Job Description

  • Oversee the overall operations of the Fire Command Centre within the retail units and ensure all related emergencies are attended and effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and support the functionality of safety systems such as Fire Alarm Protection, Intrusion Detection, Electronic Access Control, and CCTV Surveillance.
  • Respond to alarms, medical emergencies, and fire incidents in accordance with the Store Emergency Management Plan — this includes evacuating premises and administering First Aid if required.
  • Work closely with Duty Managers, Emergency Response Teams (ERT), and First Aiders to manage incidents until proper authorities arrive.
  • Assist to carry out specific deployment tasks (Patrol, cash escort, checkout, loss prevention strategies, etc.) and ensure that all tasks are carried out effectively and promptly.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported and documented in the incident reporting system, with proper follow-up actions.
  • Assist in scheduled safety system tests and participate in evacuation drills to maintain readiness at all times.

Qualifications

  • Have strong knowledge in the principles, practices and techniques of safety and security procedures and all relevant local legislation.
  • Previous experience on safety and security in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Have knowledge in the fundamentals of investigation methodology and process.
  • A strong communicator, possessing both verbal and written skills.
  • A team player with good judgment, calm under pressure, and quick in response.
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays.
