Our work depends on a Qualys Administrator joining our team to work on and support the Qualys platform in a managed services environment in Bossier City, LA. The Qualys Administrator will work with a fast-paced, high-intensity team to analyze vulnerabilities and remediate risks, thereby ensuring a safer and more secure future for the missions we support.
HOW A QUALYS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Designs and evaluates end-to-end systems through their entire life cycle. Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and customer information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics.
- Conducts software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated. Conducts comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems
- Designs, develops, tests, and evaluates information system security throughout the systems development life cycle
- Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software
- Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design
- Responsible for a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
- Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research
- Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cybersecurity architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships with customers while providing best in class service.
- Responsible for coaching and providing guidance to less-experienced professionals
- May serve as a team or task lead based on needs of the business.
- Responsible to cross collaborate with other teams within the organization to resolve issues pertaining to Qualys module functionality on an enterprise-wide scale.
- Responsible for leading team through resolving challenges and coordinating with vendor when needed and tracking progress while providing sufficient updates to organizational leaders on resolution status.
- Will report into Cyber Engineering VMDR & EDR team lead amongst other VMDR & EDR team members.
- Responsible for performing daily, weekly, & monthly Qulays administrative functions as prescribed by the VMDR & EDR team lead.
- May serve as backup to VMDR & EDR team lead as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science or Related Degree and 5+ years of experience (or equivalent years of experience)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance – US Citizenship is required
- Must possess Security+, GSEC or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or Higher
- 5+ years of related Cyber Engineering experience
- 4+ years managing one or more Qualys subscriptions as a Qualys Administrator
- Experience managing Qualys VMDR, CSPM, Web Application Scanning, Policy Compliance, CSAM, Host Discovery, Vulnerability, Compliance & CSPM exceptions.
- Ability to troubleshoot Qualys functionality with all Qualys Subscription modules within a variety of cloud and on-premise environments.
- Ability to manage highly complex reporting and dashboarding requirements within Qualys.
- Strength in multitasking and prioritization to meet periodically changing deadlines.

- Able to create, discuss and explain technical documentation.
- Ability to develop documentation for engineering from requirements and architectural designs and diagrams.
- Maintains data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing, and managing software and hardware solutions.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that improve the performance, security, and reliability of supported systems.
- Familiar with ITIL based organizational structure and processes.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Knowledge of & Administrative experience of other VMDR & EDR solutions (Tenable SC, Tenable One, Nessus, CrowdStrike, Trellix, etc.)
- AWS, Azure, or other certifications relevant to the position
- Mixed operating systems experience: (Linux, Windows)
- Cloud environment experience: (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience designing and implementing highly available solutions.
