Ops Consulting is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support mission-critical cybersecurity modernization efforts. This position plays a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and integrating complex systems. As a key technical leader, you will guide systems engineering activities, drive security-by-design strategies, and collaborate with elite cybersecurity teams to defend against emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations, and high-level system architectures to develop comprehensive system requirements specifications.
  • Lead systems design and development efforts; oversee architecture definition and integration activities.
  • Guide users in requirement formulation, conduct feasibility studies, and advise on alternative technical approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership to integrate requirements, design, and emerging technologies across systems.
  • Incorporate new designs and technologies into existing operations and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, systems engineering management plans, and test plans.
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison with our customer stakeholders, resolving technical issues and ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of all engineering deliverables within your area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with senior executives, customer representatives, and multidisciplinary program teams to align system engineering practices with mission goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.
  • Experience: Minimum 14 years of systems engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership in complex system development and integration.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA Cloud+ Certification (Cloud+)
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level I or II Certification (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GSEC)
    • Computing Environment (CE) Certification, which may include:
      • Windows, Linux, Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft, Python, Splunk, Kibana, Advanced Cyber Defense Course, or other operating systems and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mastery of system engineering principles, systems development life cycle (SDLC), and secure integration methodologies
  • Experience supporting secure operations in classified environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, RMF) and IC compliance requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers in a high-pressure, mission-critical environment

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
