IT & Cyber Security Intern

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Intern to support our contract with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant onsite in Carlsbad, NM. Local candidates are preferred. This internship will run approximately 3 months, with a flexible work schedule that depends on the availability of the candidate. The first week of the internship will include onboarding and General Employee Training. Every 2-3 weeks, the intern may rotate through various (see below) of the IT and cybersecurity department. 

Responsibilities

Apps Dev

• Sit in on Code Reviews

• Refine Stories on Azure Backlog

• Participate in sprint activities

• If interested, training and small coding project

SharePoint

• SharePoint Patching

• SharePoint AdministrationO365

• SharePoint PowerApps Development training

• SharePoint Customization training

COTS

• Troubleshoot COTS Issues 

• Devonway Ticket review

• Assist with software installations

Help Desk

• Answer phone calls
• Input tickets
• Help organize server room
• Help destroy hard drives
• Shadow techs working tickets on computers
• Shadow techs working tickets at customer's desks
• Assist techs at the WIPP Mine site

Netops

• Shadow the NetOps team as they go to the WIPP Mine Site and other sites around Carlsbad
• Help NetOps with basic data input, and network topology updates
• Perform any other functions not restricted by DOE

 Enterprise Architecture/Business Analysis

• General exposure to the duties EA and BA perform
• Perform DOE allowable tasks assigned by the EA and BA leads
• Participate in EA and BA discussions, analysis, and documentation  

Sysops

• General Shadowing and observation as business allows
