Position Overview and Responsibilities

This position serves as the Disaster Recovery Analyst for the Technical Architecture Unit in the Office of Florida Health Care Connections (FX) at the Agency for Health Care Administration. The Disaster Recovery Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure the FX program's preparedness for potential disruptions. This role involves planning and executing annual disaster recovery tests, conducting risk assessments, managing backup solutions, and coordinating recovery efforts in the event of a disaster. The Disaster Recovery Analyst works closely with FX solution partners to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data and systems. This position reports directly to the FX Operations Manager. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Disaster Recovery Planning:

  • Plan Development: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the FX program to ensure preparedness for potential disruptions.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Backup Management: Ensure that backup solutions are in place and function correctly to protect data integrity and availability.
     

System Monitoring and Maintenance

  • System Monitoring: Continuously monitor the FX program's systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze system performance metrics and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Proactive Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure systems are running efficiently and securely.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the FX program's infrastructure and systems.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors to address and resolve technical problems.

 

Annual Disaster Recovery Test:

  • Test Planning: Plan and execute annual disaster recovery tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures.
  • Test Coordination: Coordinate with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive testing.
  • Test Evaluation: Evaluate test results and implement improvements based on findings.

 

Recovery Coordination:

  • Incident Response: Coordinate recovery efforts in the event of a disaster, ensuring timely restoration of services.
  • Communication: Communicate recovery status and updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to support recovery efforts.

 

Documentation:

  • Plan Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of disaster recovery plans, tests, and outcomes for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Procedure Documentation: Document recovery procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on disaster recovery activities and outcomes for leadership and stakeholders.

 

Process Improvement:

  • Identify Improvements: Identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and maintain continuous improvement strategies to enhance disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices in disaster recovery planning and execution.

 

This position may require occasional on-call work to address security incidents or critical vulnerabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in disaster recovery planning or business continuity

 

 

Preferences

  • Preference for experience leading or participating in annual disaster recovery tests or audits
  • Preference for familiarity with risk assessment and backup/recovery strategies
  • Preference for bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preference for relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Preference for experience working in healthcare, government, or other regulated industries.
  • Preference for familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.
