Role Summary:
Synchrony’s privileged technologies are critical in securing critical access across our application and infrastructure environments. The VP, Privileged Technology is a senior leadership role that will lead a team to architect, implement, integrate and operate Synchrony’s privileged access strategies and solutions within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) organization. This position requires expertise in workload access controls, secrets management and solid understanding how privileged access management fits within the Identity Fabric security framework. Knowledge and experience with access management tools such as SailPoint IIQ/IDN, CyberArk, Delinea, HashiCorp Vault and varied directory services is key. This leader will work closely with technology partners on strategic IAM and corporate wide programs as a thought leader & key decision maker responsible for privileged technologies.

Essential Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this role will embrace the exciting blend of technical expertise, program management, engagement ability and leadership that is required to be successful.
Specifically:
Develop and implement a comprehensive PAM strategy that aligns with industry standard practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
Provide product ownership and global team direction and leadership for Synchrony’s privileged access management and privileged identity management solutions.
Define and prioritize a backlog of work including the creation of epics, features and user stories. Be data-driven in prioritizing features and quality improvements, interacting closely with customers and partners to be their voice when evaluating day-to-day development decisions.
Execute system configuration management, vendor management, incident management, problem management, change management and critical business continuity for privileged technologies. Conduct assessments of risk, cost and return on investment scenarios and impact.
Consult with external parties to ensure deployment of Synchrony’s privileged technology solutions are in alignment with industry best practice.
Enhance and maintain oversight to Synchrony’s privileged technologies policies, standards and risk metrics.
Develop and maintain value driven business relationships through effective needs analysis, project management, customer service and problem resolution.
Establish and enforce PAM policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent and secure management of privileged account.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of PAM controls, making data-driven decisions to enhance security posture.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in identity and access management; or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 13 years of experience in identity and access management
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role focused on Privileged Access Management (PAM) engineering, development, configuration, testing and implementation
Minimum 8 years of experience leading remote and global teams.
Minimum 5 years of experience with leading large, enterprise IAM deployment teams
Desired Characteristics
A proven record of designing, building and administering 24/7 enterprise IAM solutions
Experience integrating, deploying and/or maintaining IAM control solutions such as SailPoint IIQ/IDN, Delinea, CyberArk, HashiCorp vault, Okta, and varied IAM directory services platform solutions (ie. LDAP, Microsoft AD, Entra ID).
Demonstrate ability and experience in working with vendors and service providers
Demonstrated program leadership, facilitation, and customer service experience
Strong commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and can-do attitude with the flexibility to change directions quickly as well as confidence engaging with executive leadership
Superior written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead others through change
Experience with the process of creating, maintaining and reviewing operations process & end user training documentation
Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
Strong analytical and clear-thinking skills
Understanding of financial security and regulatory standards, including, but not limited to SOX IT-404, PCI, NIST, FFIEC
Ability to take input from multiple stakeholders, complex business and technical requirements, quickly determine the appropriate security solution and then drive the outcome
Industry-recognized security certification such as CISSP, CISM or CISA
Grade/Level: 14
The salary range for this position is 170,000.00 - 290,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
