The Information Security Organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced security leader to join our team as a Business Information Security Officer (BISO). The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader who can balance security initiatives with business objectives, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence across the enterprise.
In this role you will:
- Partner with business leaders to integrate security considerations into business planning.
- Ensure security requirements are well-communicated for key business processes.
- Establish an engagement model and cadence with key business teams.
- Present security metrics and progress reports to business stakeholders.
This role is a key position in connecting our security operations and business objectives to ensure robust protection of Corebridge Financial while driving strategic growth. The BISO will join a diverse and collaborative leadership team that works together to guide Corebridge’s management of cyber and information security risks across the company, support compliance with evolving technology regulations and standards, and drive sound technology decision-making in support of the company’s mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Security Leadership: Provide strategic security guidance to business unites to align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives and drive enterprise security maturity.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and eternal partners to integrate security into organizational strategies and decisions.
- Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate security risks to safeguard company assets, intellectual property, and customer information.
- Incident Response: Lead the business in addressing security incidents, ensuring rapid containment, remediation, and recovery efforts.
- Policy Development and Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory and security standards (e.g. NIST, NYDFS, GDPR). Drive compliance with evolving technology regulations and internal policies.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a diverse, collaborative leadership team that fosters innovation and aligns with the company’s mission and objectives.
- Metrics and Reporting: Develop and present actionable security metrics to measure progress, identify gaps, and improve the overall security posture.
What We are looking for:
- Compelling Communication: Strong ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences through powerful storytelling and clear, strategic communication.
- Strategic Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset that anticipates future trends and challenges.
- Collaborative Spirit: Experience building strong relationships and driving cross-functional initiatives that elevate the entire organization.
- Proven Leadership: 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity risk and leadership, with a track record of driving transformation and coaching high-performing teams.
- Deep Expertise: Mastery of cybersecurity risk management principles, regulatory compliance (e.g., NIST, NYDFS), methodologies, and the behaviors that define successful teams.
Education / Certifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or proven record of experience in Information Technology and Cyber Security
- Advanced degrees(MBA or MS) a plus
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, or CEH are highly preferred
Years of Experience
- 10+ years in technology, preferably IT Security, Cyber Security, IT Security Operations, Readiness, or Response
- 8+ years in managerial or leadership positions
This role is deemed a “covered associate” under SEC Rule 206(4)-5, 17 CFR § 275.206(4)-5, Political contributions by certain investment advisers, and other federal and state pay-to-play rules. Candidates for the role must not have made any political contributions that, under 17 CFR § 275.206(4)-5 or other federal or state pay-to-play regulations, would disqualify the candidate or Corebridge Financial from conducting Corebridge Financial’s business, or that would otherwise create a conflict of interest for Corebridge Financial.
