CACI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vulnerability Assessment Analyst to join our cybersecurity team supporting the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP). This role directly aligns with the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Framework work role for Vulnerability Assessment Analyst (ID: 541) at the Beginner to Advanced level. The successful candidate will perform comprehensive technical and non-technical assessments of systems and networks, identify deviations from secure configurations and policies, measure the effectiveness of defense-in-depth architectures, and conduct authorized penetration testing activities to uncover vulnerabilities. This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts as necessary to support mission requirements.

Responsibilities:
As a Vulnerability Assessment Analyst, you will conduct in-depth security assessments and testing, including but not limited to:
Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing: Perform technical and non-technical risk and vulnerability assessments across diverse technology areas (networks, systems, applications, cloud environments) (KSAT 940B). Conduct authorized penetration testing using established principles, tools, and techniques (KSAT 95B, 225A, 448). Conduct application vulnerability assessments (KSAT 10A).
Scanning & Analysis: Conduct vulnerability scans using various tools, analyze results, recognize vulnerabilities, and identify systemic security issues (KSAT 3B, 4). Utilize network analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities (KSAT 922B). Review logs for evidence of past intrusions (KSAT 6660).
Compliance & Policy Evaluation: Analyze organizational cybersecurity policies and system configurations to evaluate compliance with regulations and directives (KSAT 411A). Maintain knowledge of applicable policies and compliance documents (KSAT 692).
Reporting & Remediation Recommendations: Prepare comprehensive assessment and audit reports identifying technical/procedural findings, associated risks, and providing actionable remediation strategies/solutions (KSAT 784, 897A). Make recommendations for cost-effective security controls (KSAT 941A).
Tool Maintenance: Maintain and utilize a deployable cybersecurity audit toolkit (hardware/software) to support assessment missions (KSAT 685A).
Threat Emulation: Potentially mimic threat behaviors to test defensive measures (KSAT 210). Understand attacker methodologies and threat environments (KSAT 1069, 991, 992C).
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with system owners, administrators, and other stakeholders to coordinate assessments, discuss findings, and recommend security improvements. Provide recommendations for tuning defensive tools based on assessment results.
Reporting: Ensure significant findings and vulnerability trends are documented and reported according to established procedures, potentially contributing to reports required by JFHQ-DODIN per CJCSM 6510.01B.
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others.
Qualifications:
Required Certifications (Must possess one for Advanced Level):
GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM)
Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE) - or equivalent newer Offensive Security advanced certifications (OSEP, OSED, OSWE)
GIAC Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN)
Required Certifications (Must possess one for Intermediate Level):
GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN)
Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
Required Certifications (Must possess one for Beginner Level):
EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
CompTIA PenTest+ CE
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant, progressive cybersecurity experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, ethical hacking, and security auditing.
Experience working within DoD or Federal government environments and familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, RMF, and assessment methodologies is highly desirable.
Expert-level knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing principles, tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, Nmap), and techniques (KSAT 95B, 225A).
Deep understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix), networking protocols (TCP/IP), web application security, and common system/application vulnerabilities (KSAT 105, 3513, 22).
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for testing and automation.
Knowledge of risk management processes and risk assessment methodologies (KSAT 108).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs.
Must possess an active or be eligible to acquire Top Secret w/ SCI security clearance.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
