Cyber Hygiene Senior Architect

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

As a Cyber Hygiene Architect at Deutsche Bank, you will play a key role in strengthening and optimizing our organization's cyber hygiene practices. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of robust security measures to ensure the protection of our critical systems and data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote a proactive, risk-aware culture and elevate the security maturity across the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of cyber hygiene strategies, including secure configurations, patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response procedures.
  • Develop and maintain best practices and standards for ensuring secure endpoints, networks, and applications across Deutsche Bank's infrastructure.
  • Perform risk assessments and assist in identifying security gaps or vulnerabilities within the bank's existing systems and practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and IT teams, to drive the adoption of cyber hygiene principles throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits, reviews, and testing to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented security controls and hygiene measures.
  • Champion continuous improvement by staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and recommending enhancements where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and other teams on best practices for cyber hygiene.
  • Assist in developing training programs and materials to promote awareness of cybersecurity hygiene across the organization.
  • Work closely with external partners, vendors, and regulators to ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Participate in incident response planning and crisis management, specifically relating to cyber hygiene failures and security breaches.

Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on cyber hygiene, secure systems design, and security operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Expertise in vulnerability management, patching strategies, endpoint security, and network hygiene.
  • In-depth understanding of security tools and technologies used for system hardening, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and secure software development practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
