The Role:

We are seeking a bold, dynamic, and inspirational Country Sales Leader to drive and expand our enterprise sales efforts in Italy. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment within a next-generation cybersecurity company.

In this highly visible and customer-facing leadership role, you will drive market share and revenue growth by recruiting, developing, and empowering a high-performing enterprise sales team. You'll lead from the front—engaging directly with key accounts, influencing deal strategy, and closing strategic opportunities.

Your day-to-day:

  • Lead a team of experienced Enterprise Sales professionals, managing both new business and existing customer growth (expansions, renewals) within organisations larger than 2,500 users.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual bookings/revenue targets across new logos and existing accounts.
  • Develop and report on key sales performance metrics; deliver accurate forecasting and detailed deal analysis.
  • Define Go-To-Market strategy and target prospect plans across Italy’s enterprise landscape.
  • Build strategic account plans and execute tactical initiatives to expand revenue and outpace competitors.
  • Be deeply involved in the sales cycle for major deals; build strong, executive-level relationships with enterprise customers.
  • Partner closely with the Channel team to execute on a GTM plan and drive incremental revenue through partners.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain top sales talent; inspire a winning culture and promote Proofpoint as the employer of choice.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Channel, Professional Services, Marketing, and Support to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction.

What you bring to the team

  • Proven experience scaling large, high-performing enterprise sales organizations, ideally in hyper-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the cybersecurity industry and current threat landscape.
  • A track record of success leading direct sales teams and consistently exceeding revenue goals.
  • Channel-centric mindset and experience driving results in a hybrid direct/indirect model.
  • An inspirational team builder who leads with empathy, drives collaboration, and fosters a culture of trust, loyalty, and performance
  • Sharp commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and a deep attention to detail.
  • Expertise in modern sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Value Selling, etc.).
  • Experience in strategic business planning, pipeline building, and accurate forecasting.
  • Personal drive and passion to lead in a high-velocity environment and influence company-wide success.
  •  Fluent in Italian and English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build executive relationships, engage in high-level security discussions, and position Proofpoint as a trusted advisor.
