We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic intern to support our cybersecurity initiatives in data engineering, technical writing, and security awareness. The ideal candidate will work closely with multiple teams to enhance information security practices, manage data pipelines, create technical documentation, and promote a security-conscious culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering Support:
- Integrate various data sources into cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Azure) via APIs.
- Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations to transform and prepare data for reporting and analytics.
- Assist in building Power BI dashboards to visualize key cybersecurity metrics.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline repetitive data tasks.
- Technical Writing and Documentation:
- Assist in creating and editing technical documents, including policies, best practices, and presentations.
- Assist to develop content for information security forums, dashboards, and newsletters.
- Maintain and manage SharePoint sites for organized and accessible documentation.
- Security Awareness Programs:
- Design engaging security awareness materials like newsletters, decks, and videos.
- Assist in delivering role-specific security training sessions.
- Help maintain and update training materials and troubleshoot user issues with training platforms.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Technical Writing, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure).
- Skills in SQL, programming (Python preferred), and tools like PowerBI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in collaboration tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Office.
- Highly organized with attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a supportive learning environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with security training tools (e.g., KnowBe4, ProofPoint).
- Interest in creating visually engaging technical content.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting and reporting cybersecurity metrics.

The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $20.00/hour. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
