Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Electronics Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Ground Systems team.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Qualified candidates will apply engineering knowledge and will have the opportunity to work on multiple tasks including but not limited to the following.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Participate in new installations, testing and special projects as needed

  • Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, working in a solo or team-based environment

  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures

  • Plan, design, configure, and install network and system hardware in support of customer requirements

  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks, computer hardware, and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc

  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings

  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems

  • Experience with DevOps environments, virtual cloud solutions/architectures

  • Strong customer interaction skills, problem solving and critical thinking

  • Ability to maintain DoD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or greater

  • Ability to brief program leadership and stakeholders

  • Ability to work with minimal direction, guidance, and act in the absence of orders

  • Experience with Agile concepts and framework

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of time

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Principal Electronics Network Engineer (T04):

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).

  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) prior to start

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or greater (not needed to start.).

  • Ground system setup, software development and/or systems administration

  • Must have demonstrated experience in Cloud based architecture, networking, and administration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DOD Top Secret/SCI level Security Clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years

  • Master’s in Cyber Security, Computer Information Systems, Computer/Software or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
