About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Director to lead our engineering organization and drive our company's success. As the Director of Cloud and Platform Engineering, you will play a key role in the success of a multi-product growth strategy, shaping how we integrate homegrown and acquired products while tackling exciting technical and architectural challenges with a long-term vision.

You will oversee the development of our platform, defining processes for sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving company and industry. Your impact will go beyond normal boundaries, reshaping the future of technology at Intact and making a real difference at its core.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of distributed systems and streaming technologies, as well as experience working with agile organizations at scale. You will also be successful in promoting positive culture and diversity throughout a large engineering organization.

What you'll do here:

1 - Strategic Feature Planning & Innovation:

Lead the design of new cloud platform features and solutions, identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies that enhance business capabilities. Partner with product and business teams to prioritize and plan new cloud-based features, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives. Establish a roadmap for the continuous evolution of the cloud architecture, ensuring a forward-looking approach that keeps the organization competitive. Coach your direct reports to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth.

2 - Cloud Security Integration:

Integrate security best practices into all phases of cloud architecture design and implementation, from initial feature planning to deployment. Implement cloud security frameworks, including Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), encryption, secure APIs, and incident response mechanisms. Collaborate with risk management teams to develop threat models and implement security solutions that minimize risk. Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, performing regular audits and remediation.

3 - Stakeholder Management:

Partner with operation, business, and development teams to ensure new cloud platforms are aligned with business objectives and deliver value. Engage with executive leadership to communicate cloud strategy progress, emphasizing security integrations and new feature development outcomes. Collaborate with external vendors and partners to stay ahead of industry trends and leverage cutting-edge technologies. Collaborate with engineers, designers, product owners, and senior leadership to translate our vision into a tangible roadmap on a quarterly basis. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale. Be a thoughtful technical voice within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality everything as a code and engineering processes. Contribute to and take ownership of processes that drive engineering quality and meet our engineering SLAs. Work closely with the engineers in the SRE team offering support and guidance.

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Cloud & Infrastructure engineering.
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing Cloud solutions on different hyperscale's platforms.
• Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
• An execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
• An ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
• Certifications– AWS-GCP-Azure.
• Experience with IaC tools & DevOps experience using GIT HUB/GIT REPO.
• Experience in several of the following areas: database, containerization, networking and big data.
• Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPA
• Adept at driving the design and delivery of robust cloud solutions while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Skilled in cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, and software development with a deep understanding of Cloud Computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Results-oriented professional with a proven track record in managing and leading high-performing Engineering teams of Cloud & Infrastructure.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required (English and French) - Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.

• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
