The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Tax team.

RTX is looking for a talented Income Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager in RTX Corporation’s Tax department to assist in the Federal Income Tax function.  This role can be fully remote or hybrid based in Farmington, CT and is responsible for assisting with the preparation and/or review of federal income tax returns, extensions, estimates, return to accrual, and related workpapers.  You will also assist in the quarterly and year-end tax provision process and cash forecasts, as needed. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Federal Tax Compliance but will also work closely with the Tax Reporting team.  The selected candidate will be required to work business hours that align with Eastern U.S. time.

What You Will do:

  • Prepare and/or review federal income tax returns, supporting workpapers as well as various statements and elections
  • Coordinate and engage with external advisors as needed on either preparation and/or review of various tax returns and/or technical questions
  • Prepare and/or review federal income tax extensions and estimated tax calculations
  • Prepare and/or review federal return to accrual reconciliations and work with tax reporting team to ensure properly reflected in the income tax provision
  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions, year-end close, and forecasting; including assisting the tax reporting team with validating and supporting the federal income tax payable on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly cash forecasts and quarterly intercompany billing files
  • Assist in taxable income modeling related to any proposed tax law changes and potential method changes as needed
  • Assist in gathering data and supporting the global tax audit team with IRS audits and notices, as requested
  • Assist in process related initiatives aligning tax reporting and compliance
  • Interface with other tax and finance groups regarding federal compliance functions
  • Assist with various excise and other federal tax filings as needed

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and organizational levels.
  • Organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Skilled in synthesizing complex information.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Basic understanding of major steps in federal compliance processes, from data gathering, identifying required workpapers and performing review of returns
  • Basic working knowledge of federal income tax, including ASC 740
  • Experience with CorpTax, Longview, OneStream and SAP is a plus

  • Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
