Security Operations Lead (Sizewell C)


The Security Operations Lead (SOL) is charged with delivering the SZC Physical Security Operation.
The SOL will manage the daily operational command and control of the security team at Sizewell C and its Off Site Infrastructure, ensuring available assets are used to best effect at all times to maximise the security influence across the SZC
estate ensuring compliance with the Nuclear Site Security Plan (NSSP) and G4S SSUK manned guarding standards.
A key part of the role will be to Project/Programme Manage all temporary and new infrastructure with the Operations Managers, and Security Infrastructure team to ensure a first class delivery of service.


Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week – office hours

Pay: £65k-£67.5k a year Annual Salary pending experience


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure Health & Safety is at the forefront of service delivery
  • Manage the daily operational command and control of the security team at Sizewell C (SZC) and its Off-Site Infrastructure (OSI), ensuring that available assets are used to best effect at all times to maximise the security influence across the SZC estate ensuring compliance with the Construction Site Security Plan (CSSP) and G4S SSUK manned guarding standards.
  • Stabilise the workforce and ensure suitable resources are available to fulfil all operational tasks - develop a manning plan to support this.
  • Ensure the Security Team is suitably trained, equipped and available to carry out their roles and responsibilities at all times.
  • Liaise with and support the Security Risk management Team and the Client OSI Security Operations
  • Lead in providing suitable resources to support construction activities and direct support of Security Operations.
  • Provide suitable security resources for immediate incident response and be in a position to support the site emergency arrangements team.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Operational Security Team have all the documentation, policies and procedures to ensure safe and successful operations
  • Responsible for Operational Learning Reports
  • Establish the monthly business review process, terms of reference & delivery
  • Ensure that all security team personnel are managed by respective line management/supervisors in line with G4S SSUK HR policy
  • Line manage and give suitable leadership, direction and delegation to the Security Operations Managers and Delivery Managers
  • Work closely with the HSE Lead to ensure security personnel receive the correct welfare standards for their post/role
  • Ensure Project Management (PM) processes are in place for new and temporary infrastructure. Also the chair for Bi-weekly Security Project review
  • Deputise for the Deputy Account Director in their Absence
  • Support G4S Business where requested
  • Maintain and develop policies, procedures and standards.


Educational Requirements/Qualifications

 

  • A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT.


Preferred Experience

 

  • A security professional with prior experience gained in a corporate, Critical National Infrastructure,
  • Police or Military environment
  • Proven experience of leading and managing a large team in a complex environment
  • Experience and understanding of project management
  • Thorough understanding of H&S requirements

  • Risk Management qualification held or developing towards
