What you'll be doing

You will join CIBC's Security Analytics & Reporting team. You’ll be on the front lines of building the future of information security at CIBC. As a Consultant, Security Analytics & Reporting, you'll support the execution of our team's mandate by defining, implementing and reporting on data and key metrics related to business deliverables and processes. You’ll provide insight and support to safeguard our clients, enhance risk management, and enable our success. 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you'll succeed

  • Big Data Reporting Analytics - You will translate complex data into actionable insights by providing concise and relevant information that highlights essential details. You will be extracting, cleansing, and transforming large datasets into specific information to summarize and distill key points. This includes the knowledge and understanding of data and determining which datasets can be used for specific purposes. You will leverage your knowledge of System Administration, including infrastructure, applications, desktops, databases, networks and protocols to understand the data to use for building requested reports.

  • Data Analytics – You will analyze raw data to provide predictive and prescriptive analytics. You can identify thresholds and business rules for measuring data quality and ensure adherence with bank and regulatory standards. This includes performing specific data analysis based on business user requests and contributing to the automation of reporting requirements, the documentation for data quality & data management. You have proven experience in creating KPI, KRI, RAS, other metrics and reports, and are able to select the most suitable approach that results in providing CIBC with optimum solutions to business issues/challenges.

  • Identity Analytics and Administration – You will identify compliant or appropriate access to infrastructure and data. This includes risk analysis of current and new use cases and continuous update of documentation. You have the ability to handle client escalations and prioritize activities. You will drive process effectiveness and follow CIBC processes.

  • Consulting – You will be responsible for collaborating with projects and initiatives to align with Cyber Services Integration & Innovation mandates and goals and therefore enhances our information security posture. You will assist other teams in investigation of potential security incidents and provide recommendations to remediate.

  • Process Improvement – You will recommend solutions to enhance processes, eliminate risks, and improve the speed and quality of key services to our partners. You have the ability to apply appropriate tools to perform problem determination and root cause analysis; identify bottlenecks, redundancies and vulnerabilities of existing processes as they relate to identity and access management.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. It's an asset if you have experience with control, compliance, audit testing and provisioning, advancing continuous improvement agendas including process documentation.

  • You have demonstrated 1-3 years of experience in infrastructure platforms and technology, like Windows, Linux, MSSQL, NAS, Active Directory, and supporting applications

  • You have demonstrated experience with SQL DB queries, Python scripting, Power Query, Databricks, advanced Microsoft products (PowerPoint and Excel), and Power BI. It's an asset if you have knowledge of Tableau.

  • You can link operational activities and risks to controls and standards. You understand risk management framework to incorporate risk assessment to operational and improvement initiatives.
