A Brief Overview
From a staff position, and under general supervision, is responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and fulfilling requests pertaining to granting and revoking system and network access privileges for users in a clinical and business environment. Drafts, maintains, monitors, and audits processes for the standardization, authorization, establishment, and revocation of system access privileges. Performs systems access audits and monitors system usage for policy compliance. Retrieves data from various information systems, manipulates it, and analyzes it for the purposes of auditing and reconciliation of system access. Identifies, researches, and communicates security incidents. Coordinates and participates in information security related projects of all types. Demonstrates sound analytical, communication, organizational, customer service, and computer skills. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Analyze and determine appropriateness of requests for system access and various system privileges.
- Monitor system, network access, and data transfer logs and security systems as assigned.
- Attend and complete educational sessions, both mandatory and elective. Provide technical training and educational sessions to individuals and groups.
- Respond to customer access and termination requests in a timely manner. Provide Manager, customers, and vendors with timely and accurate information.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's Degree Information Technology
Work Experience Requirements
- Healthcare environment
- Information Security
- 1-3 years Information Technology Support
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated expertise in User Security Administration of network, clinical, or business applications.
- Investigative, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of office automation applications, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Experience with scripting and manipulation of data from disparate systems preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position. May take a lead role in projects.
Physical Demands
- Subject to call back at all times.
- Required to sit for extended periods.
- Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
- Ability to withstand occasionally stressful working conditions due to tight project schedules and hardware or software problems.
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written communications, and respond verbally or in writing as appropriate. Typical mediums of communication include face-to-face dialog, telephone, memos, and electronic mail.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and other documentation to determine correct action, safety precautions, and other conditions of proper hardware and software operation.
- Ability to work varying hours due to the accessibility of individuals or equipment involved in different projects, the need to minimize system downtime or user interruption, or to recover from hardware or software failures.
- The physical requirements of this position are: ability to occasionally lift and/or move equipment up to 25 pounds without assistance. Must occasionally lift and/or move equipment up to 40 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to occasionally crouch, kneel, bend and/or crawl to access, inspect, connect, position or perform other operations on equipment. Some locations, such as user or equipment locations, may present very close quarters.
- Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion in the operation of computer terminals and other equipment.
- Must be able to travel to any area of the MH organization, both local and remote as needed. Must provide own transportation.
