POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an accomplished cybersecurity leader to serve as Senior Director of Cyber Defense, working directly with the Vice President of Cyber Defense to lead and enhance the organization's global cyber capabilities. This strategic and operational role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in securing complex and highly targeted environments across both public and private sectors.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in cyber operations, team leadership, and enterprise-scale resiliency efforts—along with a collaborative mindset and ability to influence across business units.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Support & Leadership
Act as a key advisor and second-in-command to the Vice President for Cyber Defense, supporting strategic initiatives and cyber defense priorities.
Represent cyber defense leadership in executive forums and cross-functional meetings.
Assist in developing and driving strategic initiatives such as security automation, adoption of AI and ML technologies, cyber resiliency planning, red/blue teaming, and risk prioritization.
Operational Oversight
Direct the day-to-day operations of group wide cyber defense activities such as security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, automated security validation, and advisory services.
Provide direction for modernization efforts, including cloud-native threat detection, DevSecOps integration, and automation enhancements.
Team Leadership & Development
Direct and mentor a globally distributed team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous learning.
Support talent development, succession planning, and workforce readiness in alignment with enterprise security objectives.
Technology & Process Optimization
Champion the use of emerging tools and techniques to improve visibility, detection, and response (e.g., AI, SOAR, EDR, etc).
Oversee the standardization of incident management processes and playbooks.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with key partners in IT, business operations, risk, and compliance to ensure alignment with security objectives.
Serve as a point of contact for government and industry partnerships related to cybersecurity.
Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
15+ years of cybersecurity experience, including substantial leadership in cyber operations and enterprise-scale environments.
Demonstrated success leading global SOCs and managing incident response for highly targeted organizations.
Strong understanding of cloud security, endpoint protection, identity management, and threat intelligence integration.
Hands-on experience with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
Executive communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in both federal government and Fortune 500 environments.
Proven ability to lead through change and drive innovation in large, complex organizations.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CISO-level credentials

Annual incentive bonus
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $280,000 to $295,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 25%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
