Background:

The London Metal Exchange (LME) is the world centre for industrial metals trading. Most of the world’s global non-ferrous futures business is conducted on the LME’s three trading platforms totalling $18 trillion, 178 million lots and 4 billion tonnes with a market open interest high of 1.8 million lots in 2024.

The metals community uses the LME, an HKEX Group company, as a venue to transfer or take on price risk, as a physical market of last resort and as the provider of transparent global reference prices.

Overall Purpose of Role:

This role is integral to driving compliance across Technology and Cyber Security for LME and LME Clear, delivering within our risk and compliance frameworks.  It requires effective collaboration with peers and senior stakeholders to deliver accurate management information (MI) for the IT function to facilitate informed decisions for the CTO and Boards.

The role demands analytical thinking, automation skills and strong data visualisation techniques to maintain accurate, impactful and timely dashboards/datasets feeding into Boards and Committees. The MI produced drives both Regulatory and Internal Policy compliance imperative in our highly regulated industry and as a member of the Critical National infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and present timely, accurate dashboards/MI for multiple forums and management reports.

  • Enhance and manage the reporting dashboards and data feeds.

  • Generate insights from the data to recommend actions for addressing trends

  • Monitor data for compliance gaps against the Policies & Standards.

  • Discuss and address compliance metrics with stakeholder groups.

  • Maintain and update KPIs, technical procedures and other supporting documentation.

  • Ensure that the function can evidence relevant audit, regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Led team automation and contribute to other initiatives in line with the wider IT strategy

  • Mentor the newer members of the team.

  • Deliver day to day team activities ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.

Qualifications Required:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Management, related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • 4yrs+ in a role in Finance/Information Technology Sector

  • Must be a highly analytical thinker and a detail orientated data analyst capable of generating and presenting MI in an intuitive format.

  • Experience of the following:

    • Skilled in data visualization to deliver effective MI dashboards

    • Use of strong analytical skills across data sets, identify trend analysis, compliance deviations & KPIs reporting

    • Scripting and automation techniques /languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell, or equivalent)

    • Managing complex data including transformation & normalisation of data sources

    • Delivery within an Agile culture (e.g. Jira, Confluence, stories, sprints, backlogs)

    • Developing KPIs & metrics including IT &  DevSecOps

    • Creating and maintaining MI dashboards (e.g. in Power BI)

    • Generating & delivering MI presentations to Committees/forums (written & verbal)

  • An understanding of the following areas would be of benefit:

    • Information technology and Information Security tooling

    • Exchange industry and related technologies

    • Risk & Compliance Frameworks  

    • Restful API, network and configuration protocols and technologies

  • Awareness of delivery in a highly regulated financial services Organisation Exchange

Skills Required

  • Must be able to communicate metrics and related IT/Cyber compliance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends, compliance gaps and anomalies

  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage timely deliverables

  • Use appropriate data visualisation techniques to adjust for different audiences

  • Effective stakeholder management across a diverse global organisation

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
