Banking, Lending, & Trust (BL&T) is a center of excellence that unlocks access to Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) products and services based on client needs. These products and services include Deposits & Consumer Lending, Banking and Credit Solutions, Private Wealth Portfolio Management, and Trust Services.
About this role:
Wells Fargo Banking and Credit Solutions group within BL&T is seeking a Co-Head of Securities Based Lending. The Securities Based Lending team offers purpose and non-purpose lines of credit secured by liquid collateral to the full spectrum of clients within WIM.
In this role, you will:
- Manage all risk management activities, including issue management and credit risk
- Develop stress testing frameworks to risk manage this portfolio and enhance the rules based automated dynamic lending value framework
- Manage and develop specialized teams of managers and professional individual contributors
- Perform market research related to development and testing of services and products
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within the Securities Based Lending Team
- Work in partnership with Co-Head of Securities Based lending to provide vision and make strategic decisions to resolve highly complex, unique, and critical product line issues to meet deliverables
- Interpret and develop range of new products or product lines and product life cycle management for functions with moderate to high complexity and risk
- Collaborate with and influence stakeholders, subject matter experts, project managers, and experienced leaders
- Knowledge and understanding of brokerage industry: products, services, operational policies, and procedures Ability to identify and recommend new policies/programs that improve existing products or develop new programs
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Product Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Securities Based Lending experience including Margin lending is critical
- Familiarity with stress testing and LTV (Loan to Value) model development
- Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage and engage teams
- Experience collaborating with product and technology teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives
- Proven success developing holistic business strategy and driving growth
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Advanced understanding of technology portfolio strategy and planning, linking business operations to technology
- Knowledge and understanding of credit risk management
- Strong risk management and compliance skills
- FINRA registration including Series 7 and 24 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Job Expectations:
- Registration for FINRA Series 7 & 24 must be completed within a 90 or 180-day time period contingent upon number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
