Job Summary:

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for implementing and maintaining security solutions for Tenaska Corporate as well as Tenaska’s remote facilities.  This position uses advanced technologies to review, analyze, and respond to threats and follows security best practices to ensure data and system integrity is protected.

Essential Job Functions:         

  1. Review, analyze, and respond to threats and anomalies detected by various security technologies including intrusion detection, web filtering, network-based anomaly detection, anti-virus/anti-malware, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
  2. Work with System Administrators and Software Developers to fix detected vulnerabilities on servers, PCs, network devices, and applications.
  3. Assist with CIP compliance tasks.
  4. Assist with the design, development, and execution of incident response plans to limit the scope of and quickly recover from cyber-attacks.
  5. Evaluate and implement new security technologies and policies.
  6. Assist with internal and 3rd-party audits, security assessments, and penetration tests.
  7. Plan, implement, and upgrade security measures and controls.
  8. Assist with security awareness training and testing.
  9. Assist with goals setting and overall security strategy direction.
  10. Special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with a range of security tools is required, including intrusion detection/intrusion prevention systems, network-based anomaly detection, antivirus/antimalware software, network-based web filtering, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Knowledge of network technologies including routers, switches, and firewalls is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSPF and BGP is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulations is preferred.
  • CISSP and Security+ certifications are preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work well with a talented team of infrastructure support personnel and application developers.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the Company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional manner.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple assignments on a daily basis.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
