Job Location

San Diego, CA, Onsite. Minimal domestic travel is required, possibly 10% of the time.

 

Job Description

GALT Aerospace is seeking a part-time, hourly Cybersecurity Specialist to handle the following responsibilities:

 

  • Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis, and write systems status reports regularly
  • Monitoring systems for unusual activity, analyzing security events, and identifying potential threats
  • Responding to security incidents, containing breaches, and investigating the root cause
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
  • Perform security threat hunting, analysis, and response utilizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool and other Department tools
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT and Security teams to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other proactive and defensive systems for remaining ahead of cybercriminals
  • Monitor access-related activities for authorized users, and check for unregistered information changes

 

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

 

  • Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity
  • Deep knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networks
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles
  • Meticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics
  • US. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure

 

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related field
  • The ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threats
  • Secret Clearance preferred
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to carry 25 pounds
  • Must be able to sit or stand for 1-2 hours at a time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the facility
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

 

Pay Scale

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $43-$51 per hour, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
