Security Assurance Specialist

The Trust and Security Services organisation manages a portfolio of services critical to Microsoft’s foundation of Trust. Code signing, anti-malware scanning, Microsoft Public Key Infrastructure (MSPKI), to name a few. Our unique engineering challenge is scale (billions of files processed per month), diversity of workloads (drivers to AAA games), security (physical and logical), and compliance (WebTrust). We are running some of the highest security services and environments at Microsoft. We’ve always been mission-driven; In today's world, where supply chain and security threats are every increasing and getting more sophisticated, TSS services have become critical for the company to protect customers and partners. We’ve been growing rapidly, and need your help to take Microsoft's trust foundation to the next level. Our teams build the infrastructure fabric platform that helps engineers to develop and power all our services experience. You will be you will be part of a team that leads SFI (Secure Future Initiatives) to facilitate “get green” remediation, as well as leading initiatives supporting the delivery of projects aligned with our portfolio of services. You will also play a role to onboard applicable security controls to our shared remediation support program to sustain a lasting “stay green” level of compliance. The ideal candidate brings together their program management, data analytics, engineering experience, and tenacity to work with a diverse set of individuals such as Security Software Engineers, Risk Analysts, and Business Leaders to reduce risk. You should have an open mindset, be proficient in cloud security across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• You will begin to analyze threat trends and anomalies to determine operational impact. Determines vectors that introduce threat and potential mitigation strategies and learn about systemic security issues and how to address them.

• You will understands common deployment scenarios, dependencies and data flow in overall analysis and use the right set of tools and techniques to perform analyses to help you understand theories and intent behind Security Development Lifecycle (SDL).

• You will help identify security defects or vulnerabilities, deficiencies in security guidance and escalates as needed after determining the scope of potential impact and identifies relevant parties to involve.

• You will begin to develop expertise in class or set of security issues, tools, mitigations and processes (e.g., architecture, failure modes, attack chain, threat modeling, vulnerabilities).

• address security issues with customers and/or partners in a timely manner and respond to customer and partner security issues, investigate solutions, coordinate response from appropriate parties, and follows up with customers to ensure that issues are resolved.

• You will help schedule security analysis including scope, priorities and overall security guarantees of a solution or application as well as adjust plans to respond to findings, schedule and priority changes and communicate findings and recommendations to decision makers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• 1+ year(s) experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection o OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field  OR equivalent experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Ireland (Legally authorized = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• • 2+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection (enterprise experience) o OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field o OR equivalent experience
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification, Security+ Certification, or relevant certification
