What you'll do

As an Application Logging & Monitoring Consultant, you’ll analyse business requirements, technical solutions or processes to identify security related risks, and provide guidance on how they can be managed effectively through either technical or non-technical solutions. You’ll also be assisting the wider bank in the rapid delivery of their desired business and customer outcomes, making sure that bank’s system health and security are maintained and improved where possible.

You’ll be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats within application and infrastructure environments by leveraging logging and monitoring systems. This role involves developing and implementing threat models, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security architecture and incident response capabilities.

You’ll also be:

  • Enabling a culture of continuous improvement and collaborating with others, focusing on automation, virtualisation and scalability by incorporating security as early as possible
  • Making sure that decisions are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management
  • Encouraging the identification of ideas and driving the delivery of initiatives that will reduce cost and simplify the bank
  • Building and leveraging relationships with colleagues across the bank to ensure decisions made are commercially focused and create long term value for the bank
  • Setting up, managing, and optimizing logging and monitoring systems to detect and respond to security incidents

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll need experience of leading or delivering security consultancy and/or threat modelling. You'll also need excellent problem solving and technical skills, allowing you to work with our customers to create solutions that deliver for the business and are secure and a relevant security qualification, such as a CISSP or equivalent

Additionally, you'll need:

  • Strong experience in security architecture, threat modelling, or a related field
  • Deep knowledge of various technologies and platforms, such as cloud services, network infrastructure, and application development
  • Experience in developing information security controls
  • Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats within application and infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of security architecture principles and practices, including secure design and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management systems.
  • The ability to communicate technical issues in a clear and concise manner to senior stakeholders
