Nanyang Technological University is one of the top universities in Singapore offering undergraduate and postgraduate education in engineering, business, science, humanities, arts, social sciences, education and medicine.As a key member of the CITS Senior Leadership team, the Director will lead the InfoComm Infrastructure division in shaping and delivering the strategic direction of NTU’s enterprise IT infrastructure. The incumbent will be instrumental in advancing the University’s Smart Campus vision by building a resilient, secure, and future-ready infrastructure that supports digital transformation across education, research, and operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive the strategic planning, development, and execution of the University’s IT infrastructure roadmap in alignment with institutional goals and digital transformation priorities.
Oversee enterprise-wide infrastructure services including data centres, networks, cloud platforms, and endpoint systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to modernise infrastructure and improve agility, service delivery, and sustainability.
Implement robust security frameworks in collaboration with cybersecurity teams to safeguard infrastructure assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure professionals, fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manage infrastructure budgets and optimise resource allocation to achieve cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality.
Engage stakeholders across academic and administrative units to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business needs and support institutional strategies.
Provide leadership in crisis response and change management related to infrastructure disruptions or transitions.
Job Requirements:
A recognised degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications or relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, CISSP) will be advantageous.
At least 20 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, including leadership roles with strategic responsibilities in large, complex environments.
Proven track record in developing and executing infrastructure strategies, managing large-scale infrastructure operations, and leading cross-functional technical teams.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, enterprise networks, data centre management, and modern IT service models.
Demonstrated experience in managing cybersecurity risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical matters to non-technical audiences and influence decision-makers.
Strategic mindset with strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience in higher education or public sector IT environments will be an added advantage.
