Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Security Engineer.
In this role you will monitor endpoint and end user security and respond to alerts generated within our tools and from our MSSP SOC. You will work with operations and infrastructure teams to coordinate response to teammates. You will also work within the security team and with operations teams to support our vulnerability management tools and processes. All members of the NBT Security team participate in incident response and on-call rotation providing coverage after hours and on weekends. This role will require some travel as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in endpoint security, management, and/or support
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or cybersecurity with additional cybersecurity experience considered
- Immigration or work via sponsorship will not be provided for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with endpoint management and security best practices
- Experience with endpoint management and security tools (Microsoft InTune, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Servers, and Carbon Black App Control)
- Experience with SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or similar)
- Experience with open-source tools particularly as applied to cybersecurity incident response.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools (Rapid 7 InsightVM, QualysGuard, Nessus)
- Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack methods, defense practices, and interest in continuously learning in these areas.
