Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support system security analysis, compliance enforcement, and network defense initiatives at Fort Bragg. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Support compliance with DoD RMF, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and Army IT security directives.
- Assist in reviewing applications, conducting security scans, and maintaining cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Ensure the implementation of cybersecurity controls that align with mission-critical requirements.
- Monitor and report security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Respond to threats and emergency security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
- Assist in developing solutions and process improvements to prevent malicious activity.
- Perform security monitoring, log analysis, and network traffic inspections to detect anomalies.
- Support forensic investigations, attack containment strategies, and post-incident documentation.
- Perform engineering, system administration, or network management functions with privileged-level access to configure and secure Government information systems.
- Assist the Government in leading post-wide security initiatives that enhance defense-in-depth strategies.
- Implement access control mechanisms, authentication policies, and endpoint protection measures.
- Participate in planning and supporting security engineering efforts for new IT projects.
- Maintain detailed security documentation, vulnerability reports, and incident response logs.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve cybersecurity policies, processes, and compliance measures.
- Assist in preparing ATO documentation, security control assessments, and security engineering plans.
- Support user training on cyber hygiene, access control policies, and Army IT security compliance standards.
Qualifications
1+ years experience in cybersecurity operations, compliance enforcement, and security policy implementation. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with IAT Level II). Must be MCSA certified or able to obtain within six months of hire. GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certifications desired. Knowledge of DoD RMF, NIST 800-53 security controls, and Army cybersecurity compliance frameworks. Familiar with system administration, privileged-level access management, and secure network configurations. Experience responding to security incidents, conducting system security scans, and assisting with vulnerability assessments. Able to communicate security risks, policies, and mitigation strategies effectively to IT teams and leadership. Experience working in DoD cybersecurity environments, including security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and SIEM platforms. Familiar with Army IT security policies, network hardening techniques, and DoD cyber defense directives. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
