Role Summary

We’re building a focused, high-performing security engineering team and we’re looking for someone who loves solving hard problems through code. This role is for an experienced software engineer with a bias for action, a habit of taking ownership, and the resilience to follow through when problems get difficult. You might not be a seasoned security expert yet, but you’ve shown you can ship high-quality code, work independently, and grow fast when given the space to do so.

This is a role for someone who consistently delivers—someone teammates rely on when things need to get done. You’re naturally curious, quick to learn what you don’t know, and take pride in building well-crafted solutions that actually move the needle.

Within our team, we set a high bar and hold ourselves accountable to it. You’ll have the autonomy to drive meaningful projects, the expectation to deliver real results, and the mentorship to grow quickly. We move with urgency, take ownership of problems end-to-end, and collaborate closely to raise the standard of what we build.

What you'll work on:

  • Work across the full engineering organisation, partnering with product teams, Platform, and DevOps
  • Design and build secure, scalable systems – both internal tools and external services that directly support customer-facing products
  • Contribute to the development of foundational security infrastructure components used across the company
  • Embed security thinking into the way we build software across all teams through code and design reviews, and technical collaboration
  • Take ownership of technical problems, from design to deployment
  • Operate in a fast-paced scale-up serving global financial institutions with high expectations on security, reliability, and performance.
  • Periodically take part in security simulations as well as the incident response on-call rota.

Skills and Experience

Must have:

  • Strong background in software engineering building production grade products - C# (or similar)
  • Solid understanding of testing practices: Unit, integration, end-to-end, others
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern SDLC practices
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and core architecture patterns
  • Experience with orchestration technologies (Kubernetes)
  • Experience working and integrating with third-party APIs (Common design patterns for resilient API consumption)
  • Comfortable debugging, troubleshooting, and reasoning about complex production systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Nice to haves:

  • Experience writing production code in Go
  • Any exposure to security engineering or platform security concepts
  • Experience building internal tools or platforms end-to-end (requirements gathering, development, release)
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and secure software design patterns

Just some of our benefits

  • Competitive salary plus performance based bonus.
  • Health & Wellbeing: A competitive health insurance policy that disregards previous medical history. This also includes dental, optical, mental health support and comprehensive cancer cover.
  • Cycle to work scheme and Gym discounts: Buy a bike and cycling accessories out of your pre-tax salary and spread the cost over 12 months, as well huge discounts off Hussle, KOBOX and Nuffield Health gyms.
  • Flexible and remote working: We have a mature attitude towards flexible and remote working. Whether you’re a night owl, morning person, parent, carer or simply need flexibility to work a different pattern to the norm, we’re committed to helping you be productive and work in a way that is best for you.
  • Professional learning and development: External training and accreditations are supported, as well internal training and development programs.
  • Maternity, paternity and adoption leave: Paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave, which includes 13 weeks full pay for maternity and adoption leave and 6 weeks full pay for paternity leave
  • Holiday: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
