Overview:
The Manager of Information Technology is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall direction, planning, and execution of the organization's IT strategy and operations. This position oversees the IT department and technical infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business objectives, optimizing technology investments, and maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment. The IT Manager will identify current and future technology needs, drive innovation, manage a portfolio of IT projects, lead a talented IT team, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, business acumen, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic IT Leadership & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's overall business goals and objectives. Forecast future technology needs and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Budget Management: Develop, manage, and oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing return on technology investments.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, including help desk technicians, system and network engineers, and potentially other specialized roles. Set team goals, conduct performance reviews, foster professional growth, and promote a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
- Project Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of technology projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to cost, scope, and schedule constraints. Prioritize projects based on business needs and strategic alignment.
- IT Infrastructure & Operations Management: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's enterprise technology systems, infrastructure (including network, hardware, software, and cloud environments), and telecommunications. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Develop and implement robust IT security policies, procedures, and controls to protect organizational data and systems from threats. Oversee data privacy, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, select, and manage external IT vendors. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure vendor performance meets expectations.
- AI and Emerging Technologies: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement AI and other emerging technologies that can enhance business processes, improve decision-making, and drive innovation.
- Policy, Procedure, and Standards Development & Enforcement: Create, maintain, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate IT strategies, project updates, and technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership. Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments.
- Service Level Management: Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for IT services to ensure user satisfaction and meet business requirements.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure IT operations and systems comply with relevant industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal governance policies.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop, test, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of IT failures or other incidents.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive applied experience in the IT field, with at least 5 years in a senior IT management role with demonstrated success in leading IT teams and managing complex projects. Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with business goals.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in managing enterprise technology systems and infrastructure, including AWS/Azure, Cisco Meraki, and Windows.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and other relevant business software.
- Familiarity with data management principles and practices.
- Preferred: Experience in implementing and managing AI technologies within an enterprise setting.
- Certifications
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification (e.g., ITIL v4 Foundation or higher)
- Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

The salary range for this position is $125,000.00-$140,000.00. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
