The Senior Auditor - IT will participate in the planning, execution, and reporting phases of assigned audit projects under the direct supervision of an Audit Project Manager or Audit Manager/Director. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Performing audits of UMB IT and Risk departments and business applications.
- Developing and executing a risk-based testing approach for assigned IT audit segments.
- Performing process/control walkthroughs and executing tests of operating effectiveness.
- Preparing clear and concise documentation of test work/results in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicating with the client and the audit team during all phases of the audit.
- Maintaining current knowledge of audit and technology industry standards and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Corporate Audit Services (CAS) team serves as the Internal Audit Department and assists Management in attaining Company goals by providing independent, objective, assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the Organization’s operations. CAS provides objective insight on the design and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes. As the Senior Auditor - IT, you will participate in the planning, execution, and reporting phases of assigned audit projects under the direct supervision of the IT Audit Project Manager or the IT Audit Manager/Director. Responsibilities also include developing and executing a risk-based testing approach for technology systems and processes, performing process walkthroughs, documenting walkthrough narratives and testing results in a timely manner, and communicating results to the audit team and the client. This job is hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thurs on-site).
How you’ll spend your time:
- Perform audits of UMB IT and Risk departments and business applications.
- Develop and execute a risk-based testing approach for assigned IT audit segments.
- Perform process/control walkthroughs and execute tests of operating effectiveness.
- Prepare clear and concise documentation of test work/results in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate with the client and the audit team during all phases of the audit.

We’re excited to talk to you if:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business or technology fields.
- 2 years work experience in information systems auditing, internal control consulting, or risk management.
- Knowledge of audit standards and modern technology systems and processes.
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- You have demonstrated the understanding of how the audit process is designed and the purpose/objective of each task.
- You have demonstrated the ability to identify and assess risks and controls.
- You have demonstrated proficiency in conducting audit interviews in order to gather information.
- You have demonstrated data analysis software skills using MS Excel or other CAAT tools.
Extra bonus points if you have:
One or more of the following Industry certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Bank Auditor (CBA).
Compensation Range:
$57,760.00 - $124,170.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
