Position Summary

The DevSecOps Engineer role streamlines the software development lifecycle and delivery pipeline to improve engineering productivity/experience and enable product delivery with speed, security and quality. They work closely with product development, operations and security teams to identify and resolve pain points and inefficiencies in delivery workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads efforts from end-to-end through delegation, review, and driving results holistically; leads medium complexity features from technical design through completion, collaborating to bridge the gap between Development, Cybersecurity and Operations, identifying and addressing inefficiencies in the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Executes a defined DevSecOps roadmap, contributing to the organization's engineering and technology strategy.
  • Identifies and recommends automation improvements to the DevSecOps capabilities to support the software development lifecycle and best practices in agile engineering.
  • Organizes the delivery of high-quality solution or deliverables, setting effort estimates and continuously reviewing and updating the specifications, in line with user requirements. Communicates complex technical concepts and aligns organization on decisions.
  • Supports the implementation of new architectures, standards, methods and logic for enterprise software, through the support of the continuous delivery pipeline, in accordance with business strategies and specifications. Collaborates with stakeholders to select tooling and implement supporting DevSecOps capabilities aligning with Enterprise recommendations.
  • Ensures proper documentation of solution design and works with business partners to design and implement solution to meet architecture standards.
  • Partners with cross-functional stakeholders, including software engineering, operations, quality assurance and cybersecurity, to streamline processes. Develops and continuously improves automation solutions to enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently, securely and consistently.
  • Leads small teams to build and maintain tools and capabilities for planning, development, building, testing, and deployment operations. Provides support for internally developed solutions (e.g., restarting services, restarting jobs, etc.) through automation and continuous improvement. Builds Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline and identify application patterns.  Defines processes and standards to align with DevSecOps best practices.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Experience developing CI/CD workflows and tools required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps preferred.
  • Experience in coding/scripting languages such as .NET/C#, PowerShell, etc. strongly preferred.
  • Experience in configuration management, test-driven development and release management preferred. 
  • Experience with agile development & methodologies and strong understanding of DevSecOps principles required.

  • Database Management - The function of managing and maintaining database management systems (DBMS) software, designed to define, manipulate, retrieve and manage data in a database.
  • Debugging - The process of finding and resolving bugs within computer programs, software, or systems.
  • DevSecOps - A set of practices that combines software development and information-technology operations which aims to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality and a security first approach.
  • General Programming – Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – The process of managing and provisioning infrastructure through code instead of through manual processes.
  • Log Monitoring –  Logging and monitoring are crucial aspects of software development that involve capturing and analyzing information about a software system's behavior, performance, and errors.
  • Observability –  The ability to measure a system’s current state based on the data it generates, such as logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Operating System Fundamentals – System software that manages computer hardware, software resources, and provides common services for computer programs.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – A process used by the software industry to design, develop and test high quality software.
  • Software Testing –  An investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the software product or service under test
  • Version Control System – Software tool that helps engineers and other collaborators manage changes to source code, documents, and other files over time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of relevant experience
