Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, manages FPI’s security infrastructure, and related policies, and procedures. Supports worksite analysis and hazard identification and hazard prevention and control efforts. FPI’s security infrastructure comprises access control, surveillance, alarm functions, physical security, and associated process and technology controls.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Five years of security infrastructure planning and construction experience or equivalent combination of experience
- CRASE certification
- Five years of Lenel, and Security Surveillance system experience or equivalent combination of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manages the FPI access control system and infrastructure:
a. Segment and site management
b. Set up new sites
c. New requests
d. Existing requests / edits
e. Emergency deactivation / activation requests
f. Trouble shoot and resolve door hardware / access control problems
g. Adds new access control hardware and infrastructure as needed
h. Manage and program Alarm and auxiliary inputs and outputs
2. Coordinates UMB and UMMC access requests.
3. Manages/supports FPI’s access control infrastructure.
4. Coordinates and manages contractors to perform on security projects.
5. Reviews cost and negotiates price with vendors.
6. Prepares cost estimates for approval and consideration.
7. Works with facilities project managers and IT stakeholders on security infrastructure planning and implementation for new and existing sites.
8. Manages FPI’s Video surveillance system and infrastructure:
a. Works with IT to maintain Video storage systems
b. Cleans and focuses cameras, checks firmware, frame rate, resolution quality, and audio (when used)
c. Troubleshoots and resolves video failures
d. Manages Surveillance system end users accounts, training, views and system rights
e. Installs or contracts for installation of new equipment and replacements.
9. Managed FPI’s panic alarms on Campus and alarm monitoring infrastructure.
10. Manages Offsite Alarm systems:
a. Installation and maintenance
b. Program end user alarm system codes
c. Review burglar and panic alarms
Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
