This position is responsible for providing directions to Information Security Engineering (Architecture, Cloud, Networking) team to include daily supervision, coaching and mentoring. Oversee the development, communication, education and maintenance of in-scope Information security systems in the Bank. Responsible for establishing an environment that fosters team building and promotes employee recognition, development and growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Information Security:
- Lead and mentor the Information Security Architecture, Cloud and Networking Engineering teams.
- Responsible for oversight of information security standards, procedures and guidelines in compliance with bank regulations (e.g. GLBA, BSA, FFIEC, etc.).
- Develop process to manage security monitoring, scheduling, on-call, documentation and knowledge transfer within team.
- Maintains awareness of security vulnerabilities and threats and ensures that the Information Security team receives relevant ongoing education and training.
- In conjunction with the Director of Information Security, ensures the maintenance and enhancement of the security posture of the bank’s computers and networks.
Process Improvement/Special Projects:
- Establishes appropriate support procedures, processes, methods, and communications for support, completion of work requests, and managing and implementing complex projects.
- Establishes appropriate procedures, processes, and documentation for vendor management, user support, and strategic direction related to information security.
- Oversees the development and implementation of new risk operation systems and Information Security upgrades.
- Analyzes current operation and plans for future needs for team.
- Tracks information on production levels for monthly management reporting; analyzes information to make recommendations to manage growth and improve effectiveness.
- In conjunction with Director of Information Security, implements and monitors operational and compliance policies and procedures to assure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in area of responsibility.
- In conjunction with the Director of Information Security, monitors and updates Operation Risk Management Risk Assessments.
Hiring/Training/Staff Retention & Development
- Manages and supervises assigned department personnel who are responsible for providing Information Security duties and responsibilities.
- Prioritizes the workload of individuals within assigned areas. Ensures a high level of customer service and support is provided to all functional areas in the Bank.
- Ensures proper performance plans and training initiatives are in place for all supervised personnel. Provides follow-up to ensure expectations and standards are met.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Relied upon by management to provide expert and detailed knowledge of Information Security in order to handle the most complex process and service issues independently.
- Maintains good working relationship with all law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
- Oversees security response lists and coordinates continuous response to any security event or situation.
- Exhibits excellent writing skills and ability to document business unit requirements, processes, and procedures, including updates or modifications.
- Exhibits the ability to interact with high-level Executive Managers and lead large group discussions dealing with operations and production support matters.
- Maintains overall knowledge of general banking practices.
- Exhibits the ability to perform cost/benefit financial analysis.
- Maintains overall technical knowledge related to best practices in Information Security.
- Oversees and/or assists with special projects or duties as assigned.
- Regular, reliable attendance required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Requires 5+ years of related work experience.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in computer security theory, principles, and practices. This includes operating system configuration, host and network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, host and network, DLP, SIEM, Cloud.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Exhibits the ability to explain complex technical security issues in layman’s terms.
- Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, networking, cloud, internet applications, security applications.
- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills, strategic thinking and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to perform or distribute tasks as needed or required to ensure department objectives are met.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff.
- Provides leadership and effectively mentors team, management and others, providing assistance and expertise on all Information Security issues and applications.
- Strong knowledge of Bank, Federal and State policies, regulations and requirements as applicable.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Compensation: $110,113 - $165,169 annually
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is also eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus.
