Zurich Services (Schaumburg, IL) seeks an Automation Engineering Specialist to plan and carry out security measures to protect Zurich’s computer networks and systems. Specific duties include: developing automation capabilities through scripting within Zurich’s Security Orchestration Automation and Response platform, Cortex xSOAR (35%); liaising with internal stakeholders to assist in converting manual tasks to automated workflows within xSOAR and documenting new automated processes (25%); performing research and attending security conferences to maintain awareness of evolving cyber security trends and best practices (10%); utilizing Splunk queries to investigate queries for data analysis, analytics, investigations, or alerting to detect malicious threat actors in Zurich’s IT environment (15%); SIEM engineering detections based on new tactics, techniques and procedures utilized by advanced threat actors (10%); assisting Zurich’s Cyber Response team in responding to security incidents (5%). Position requires CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Server+ certifications. Position requires 5% travel within the U.S to attend conferences and training courses. Option to work remotely 60% of the time from anywhere in the U.S.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study, 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Cyber Security Associate Apprentice, Mobile Tester, IT Analyst, or similar position in the information technology area. Specific experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: working with cyber information security functions including Incident Response, Application Security, Threat Defense, and Threat Intelligence; project management including requirements gathering, scope definition, effort estimation, and functional, integration, and regression testing; identifying, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents; working with networking concepts, including the OSI model, network appliances, applications, and cloud concepts; and performing server administration and troubleshooting. Must have CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Server+ certifications. Must be willing to 5% travel within the U.S to attend conferences and training courses. Option to work remotely 60% of the time from anywhere in the U.S.

The proposed salary range for this position is $145,974.
