The purpose of this position is to manage and conduct a variety of testing, cloud engineering, and cybersecurity-related R&D projects. The position involves developing technical solutions, ensuring compliance with security standards, and overseeing cloud infrastructure. This role also includes proposal development for federal, state, and industry-funded R&D and demonstration programs in collaboration with industry partners. This position is preferred on-site in Orono or Portland, Maine. The typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is commensurate with Career Level: 

Engineer III – up to $95,000

Engineer IV – up to $115,000

This position requires access to information regulated under U.S. Export Control regulations and therefore individuals must qualify as a U.S. Person under U.S. Export Control Regulations.

Qualifications:
Required

  • M.S. in a related Engineering or Science field with five or more years of experience in research or equivalent.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and IT security compliance.
  • Experience in advanced composites, engineering design, and large-scale computing environments.
  • Effective communication skills for documentation and technical presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in network design, software engineering, and data security.
