Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Business Area is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) team. This role will report directly to the Senior Product Owner of Software Delivery and will have a large impact on developing relevant solutions for our nation’s warfighters.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Development and Maintenance: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Develop, secure, and manage containerized applications using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Security Integration: Implement security measures throughout the software lifecycle, including vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and automated security testing.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Use monitoring tools to ensure system reliability, troubleshoot issues, and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevSecOps practices.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for pipelines, tools, and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging DevSecOps tools and practices and contribute to the improvement of existing workflows.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or similar with 2-4 years of experience in a relevant field or Masters with less then 2 years of relevant experience. Directly related experience of 5 or more years with relevant certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, etc." may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Fundamental background in software design patterns
  • First-hand experience with container orchestration tools Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with Agile and DevSecOps concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Version Control Systems like Git
  • Experience with security tools like Checkmarx, SonarQube, OWASP, etc.
  • Fundamental background in software design patterns and programming languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-starter who can work independently while possessing communication skills to work effectively with software development teams and customers. 
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, and GitLab.
  • Experience with commercial cloud infrastructure deployment environments such as AWS.
  • Experience with automated provisioning and configuration tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Must have a strong sense of ownership and drive in digging into complex problems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS).
  • Understanding of Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with provisioning and managing resources within IaaS/Cloud infrastructures (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
  • Experience owning entire projects or processes within a technical area.
  • Certifications in DevSecOps, cloud computing, or cybersecurity
  • Passion for learning and applying DevSecOps principles to real-world challenges.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
