Systems Administrator III

**This position is contingent on contract award**

RMC is hiring a Systems Administrator III to support services we provide to the Enterprise Systems (ES) Department of the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic Service Centers in Charleston, SC. This support will be primarily for the Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS) Division. As a Systems Administrator, you will install and maintain operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.

Job Duties:

• Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
• Evaluate system specifications, input and output processes, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
• Troubleshoot networking and operating system problems.
• Must be familiar with shell and kernel-level programming and system-specific requirements.
• Research and recommend innovative and possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Perform work with a high degree of latitude.
• Responsible for handling the most complex issues as well as providing expert knowledge of the subject matter.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group.
• May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.

Requirements

• Seven (7) years with Master’s or 11 years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems; and dependent on task, individual shall meet the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual as applicable.
• At least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
• Individual shall have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
• Individual shall be capable of training staff on software applicable to their position, assisting customers with information technology, monitoring system configuration (hardware and software), and providing instruction on computers and applications.
• Individual shall have notable experience supervising and/or mentoring of lesser experienced personnel.
• An Active DOD Secret Security Clearance is required to start.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $104,000 to $155,000 (annually).
