As a Cyber Security Engineer in our Endpoint Security Team, you will need a solid background in information security practices and services and an understanding of threats to enterprise environments. We are looking for a passionate colleague in the cybersecurity field who will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and operation of Garmin’s cybersecurity services. Also, you will assist in evaluating the threat landscape, identifying risks to the organization, and enhancing Garmin’s capabilities to protect, detect, respond, and recover from security incidents. 

This role will collaborate across cybersecurity teams and will partner with Garmin business segments as a trusted resource to ensure security services are effectively managed. 

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for key security tools, including EDR platforms, email security suites, DNS security solutions, PAM tools, enterprise credential management, forensic tools, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve security-related support tickets, ensuring timely and effective remediation of issues.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security tools and platforms.
  • Perform routine security assessments and system health checks to ensure tools are functioning optimally.
  • Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to improve knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security initiatives and maintain alignment with business objectives.
  • Support project work related to security tool enhancements and upgrades.
  • Adhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as required.
  • Participate in team discussions and share knowledge with peers to enhance overall team capabilities.
  • Effectively collaborate with peers and escalate concerns appropriately. 
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions regarding security operations and enhancements.
  • Stay informed on advancements and new features in security tooling and platforms, ensuring continuous improvement in team capabilities and risk mitigation strategies.  

Requirements

  • Experience with security tools such as EDR, email security, DNS security, PAM solutions, and forensic tools.
  • Experience with Proofpoint, SentinelOne, Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Network Security.
  • Experience with Windows server and desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with core IT services such as networking, storage, databases, and web-based services.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in troubleshooting security-related issues.
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or another relevant field AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. 

Would be a plus: 

  • Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CEH, GSEC, etc.
  • Experience with Azure and AWS public cloud services.
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems in a security or administrative capacity.
