We are looking for a Threat Detection and Automation Specialist to work in support of the Cyber Resilience and Operations area of FNZ. This is an exciting opportunity to bolster FNZ’s security defences by helping to mature the growing threat intelligence and threat detection functions at the company. The role would be well suited to a threat detection specialist who is keen to learn more about threat intelligence and be involved in breach simulation activities. The successful candidate will report into the Group Threat Intelligence Manager and gain exposure to a wide range of cybersecurity operations at FNZ across threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management, and security engineering. You will learn more about financial-services teams’ operations in a close-knit and friendly environment. You will have existing experience of technical threat intelligence and/or threat detection.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Maintain an understanding of the cyber threat landscape with a focus on the wealth management sector
Use an existing detection-as-code pipeline to deploy detection rules into the security monitoring environment
Help mature the threat intelligence function, specifically focusing on means of automating existing processes across the collection and analysis phases of the intelligence cycle
Support breach simulation activities in testing existing detection rules and creating new, custom use cases
Map threat actors tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to the FNZ control environment
Ensure indicators are triaged and prioritised in an automated fashion
Experience required
Hands on experience of threat detection and security monitoring technologies including SIEM and EDR solutions
Knowledge of use case generation processes in the SIEM – experience with well-known SIEM technologies is highly beneficial
Experience handling threat intelligence with an understanding of the intelligence cycle
Good knowledge of the current cyber threat landscape, including relevant threat groups, TTPs, and attack vectors of relevance to financial services
Particularly strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks
Experience of the MITRE ATT&CK© framework for improving detective and preventative controls
Past experience working within a SOC, Threat Intelligence, or Security Engineering team with evidence of hands-on technical analysis
