Collins Aerospace is seeking Senior Network Engineer for a position in Largo, Florida. Due to the applicable duties, this position requires 100% onsite employee status. The Network Engineer position implements network security and information assurance solutions for program and development systems based upon system level requirements, architecture models, and engineering design documents using a defense-in-depth approach on trusted products. This position will involve maintenance, installation, testing, and general support for network infrastructure.  The ability and know-how to do basic/advanced troubleshooting, including testing during and after implementation.  A solid understating of networking fundamentals is required, and how these fundamental technologies are used in a LAN, MAN or WAN architecture.

What You Will Do​

  • Configure, manage and maintain the physical and virtual network.
  • Provide technical support to the Network and System Administrators and strive to automate system administration.
  • Implement and maintain Router, Switching, and misc. network related DISA STIGs.
  • Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
  • Configure, manage and maintain Type 1 encryption devices.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, troubleshooting complex network issues, and serve as a key member of the network administration team.
  • Capture, Report, and Present data captures of obtained network performance information.
  • Provide input to the design and architecture of the network.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies and trusted products, with the ability to evaluate, integrate, and support their use in network environments.
  • Have recent experience in designing secure high assurance/high availability networks, preferably using Junos routing and appliances.
  • Build and configuring virtual networks.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Create and defend system change requests.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Create documentation of all work performed to capture configuration and installation procedures.
  • Responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining a VoIP solution utilizing Cisco Call Manager.
  • Support security staff in compliance and vulnerability audits of network systems, implementing security remediation, and during accreditation events.
  • Work with users to identify the needed network design changes required to support changing processes or requirements.
  • The ability to support travel up to 10% of the year.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work well independently under limited oversight, be self-directed and able to prioritize work.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred).
  • Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain SCI access after start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer​

  • Experience with Juniper SRX, EX series routers and switches, deploying security solutions for DoD networks, and multi-platforms like Windows, UNIX, LINUX.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing computer security, understanding of network engineering fundamentals, including: OSI layers, IP addressing, sub-netting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, DHCP, etc and a willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required.
  • Ability to adapt both an offensive and defensive mindset to support securing information systems and to quickly switch tasks based on changing priorities.
  • Strong writing, speaking and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to take initiative and work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to work with an extremely risk adverse customer and their policies.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
