Who You Are
You are an experienced Director of Physical Security Operations with a passion for building and continuously improving internal security programs. You take a hands-on approach to leadership and are adept at developing the processes and partnerships necessary to protect people, facilities, and operations across the U.S, India, and globally.
The role will collaborate across departments, including Legal, HR, IT, and Facilities, and provide leadership during security incidents or crises.In addition to these core responsibilities, this role offers a unique opportunity to engage with our Product and Client Success teams to provide operational insights that can enhance our software platform and support client engagements. This cross-functional collaboration is optional and intended for candidates who are passionate about extending their expertise beyond internal operations.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing refinement of Ontic’s physical security strategy.
- Oversee travel risk management policies and global travel security protocols to ensure employee safety during domestic and international travel.
- Conduct and manage corporate investigations related to physical security incidents, threats, and potential policy violations.
- Manage and enhance access control systems, policies, and procedures across Ontic’s facilities, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Lead Ontic’s business continuity planning and readiness from a physical security standpoint, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary owner for security governance, risk, and compliance efforts related to physical security.
- Develop strong relationships with cross-functional partners and external security vendors to support operational excellence.
- Maintain situational awareness of relevant physical threats, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
- Serve as the point of contact for physical security matters during emergency events, travel disruptions, or crisis incidents.
- Ensure regular reporting and performance metrics are available to measure program success and inform executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, physical risk management, or a similar function, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Working experience with the Ontic Platform or relevant point tools is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of physical security disciplines, including travel risk management, investigations, access control, and business continuity.
- Experience designing and leading corporate security programs in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance standards relevant to physical security (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC 2, SB553, etc.).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Working understanding of cybersecurity capabilities and defense measures.
- Calm under pressure, with strong crisis management capabilities.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
Additional Opportunities for Impact
- While internal security operations will be the primary focus of this role, the Director will also have the opportunity to:
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams on real-world operational needs, feature functionality, and platform usability.
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert to assist Client Success and Solutions teams in developing best practices and supporting client engagements, particularly in the areas of physical security, travel risk, investigations, and business continuity.
- Participate in product advisory sessions and early user testing initiatives to help shape future product direction.
- Participation in these activities will be based on interest and capacity, with the goal of enriching our products and services through operational expertise.
