We are hiring interns (8 months) for Cyber - Defense & Resilience within our Technology & Transformation (T&T) practice. 


What will your typical day look like?
 

Deloitte Cyber enables trust and safety of online communications and digital products, protecting users, consumers, and patients from harm. Enables clients to provide consumer confidence in knowing with whom they are dealing and ensuring the integrity of access to data. Includes effective customer and enterprise identity management as well as governance, regulatory compliance, digital ethics, and advisory support. Deloitte is looking for individuals that enjoy solving complex problems and thrive in fast-paced environments.  

 

As an Intern with our team, your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python
  • Implement and manage streaming data solutions using tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar
  • Collaborate with senior data engineers and data scientists to design and optimize data architecture
  • Assist in the integration of new data sources and ensure data quality and integrity
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability
  • Contribute to the documentation and improvement of data engineering processes and best practices
  • Support in the day-to-day cybersecurity functions, such as detection & monitoring, as well as utilization of Managed XDR (MXDR) and MSS

Deloitte Cyber advises, implements, and manages solutions across five areas: 

  • Strategy, Defense, and Response: We help clients design and implement transformational enterprise security programs with an emphasis on defending against, recovering from, and remediating major cyberattacks. 
  • Data: We assist clients in developing a better understanding of the personal, sensitive, and confidential information they collect, process, and share.  
  • Application Security: We integrate security activities throughout the software development lifecycle to enable the design, build, and deployment of secure applications.  
  • Infrastructure: We assess, strategize, design, implement, and, in select cases, handle next-generation controls to manage risks and exposure. 
  • Identity: We leverage Deloitte’s Identity methodologies and Digital Identity platform to help clients control which employees, partners, suppliers, customers, and citizens access sensitive organizational applications and data.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you!
 
In this role, the expected qualifications are:

  • Currently enrolled in a PEY program or co-operative education program, and able to work for 8-12 months
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python programming language
  • Familiarity with streaming tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar
  • Understanding of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases
  • Language proficiency in Python, ability to work with Big Data
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
  • Interested in consulting professional services or a client-based environment,
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trustworthy and durable relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment, establish priorities and meet challenging deadlines, both independently and in a team setting 
  • A self-starter who is able to conceptualize creative approaches and complex solutions
  • An inclusive team player who is passionate and motivated
  • Curiosity and comfortability with ambiguity
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, as required
