Cyber Architect, Platform & Aircraft Cybersecurity

We are now looking for a   

CYBER ARCHITECT, PLATFORM & AIRCRAFT CYBERSECURITY 

to join Finnair’s Cyber Unit. 

This is a unique position in the cybersecurity field, where you get to work with our cloud environments, but also to take on a role to further develop yourself around the topic of aircraft cybersecurity.  

Our new Cyber Risk Program means development and growth in our capabilities and resources. This opens new opportunities and roles. You will be joining a diverse and talented Cyber Unit where our everyday work matters for flight safety, societal resilience, privacy and security of our customers and employees, and the overall continuity and security of our business and operations. We operate our Information Security & Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, Cyber Culture Program, Cyber Architecture initiatives, Finnair Cyber Defense Center and all related Cyber Services.  

Depending on your experience and profile, your responsibilities in this role will include: 

• Design and develop cyber architecture principles  

• Operate as a cybersecurity solution architect for platforms and aircraft 

• Collaborate with operational and development teams to design, build, and maintain secure systems 

• Analyse and assess solution architectures for cyber risks and security issues 

• Support security analysis, security testing, and vulnerability analysis  

• Collaborate with i.a. Finnair cloud team, Technical Operations and Flight Operations on cybersecurity  

None of this will of course be done alone, as we have others in similar roles, and these are all joint effort.  

An ideal candidate for this role will have: 

Knowledge of:

• cybersecurity tools, solutions, and services used to secure cloud and hybrid environments 

• cloud security engineering 

• threat and risk identification methodologies and common mitigation strategies 

• design and implementation of modern security patterns for cloud-native and hybrid solutions, with a focus on AWS 

• software development methodologies, application security controls and modern technologies 

• defining and documenting security requirements 

Skills in:

• leading and facilitating security workshops 

• stakeholder communications with developers, vendors, project managers and business owners 

• conducting security review and testing activities 

• conducting developer coaching, training and presentations 

​Experience in working any of the following roles:

• Cybersecurity Solutions Architect 

• DevOps Engineer or Cloud Architect 

• Application Security Engineer or Software Developer 

• Technical Security Specialist or Consultant 

• Detection Engineer or DFIR Specialist 

Interest in:

• staying up-to-date with cybersecurity industry developments and continuously learning new skills 

• gaining knowledge of aircraft and flight operations related technologies and systems 

• developing skills in aircraft cybersecurity architecture and controls 

• understanding aviation and aircraft related cybersecurity regulations and industry standards

This position is located in Finnair HQ near Helsinki Airport and reports to the Chief Information Security Officer. Our working language is English, and Finnish is a bonus.
