Overview

Stellar Solutions is seeking two Cybersecurity Systems Engineers—one junior-level and one mid-level—to support the development of Government Gateway RF (GWRF) and DDC4 products and services. These roles provide subject matter expertise to define, develop, implement, and assess cybersecurity solutions for secure gateway environments used by government and industry partners.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

Both engineers will work alongside internal teams and customer stakeholders to enable secure integration of gateway antennas, Gateway Support Equipment (GWSE), and front-end processors—ensuring third-party access through secure, compliant backhaul services. Junior candidates will contribute to hands-on implementation while gaining mentoring and guidance. Mid-level candidates will operate with greater independence, leading select tasks and interfacing directly with customer security teams.

Responsibilities include (level of responsibility will vary by role):

  • Assist in or lead the application of NIST SP 800-series and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to system designs
  • Support or independently manage the configuration of SonicWall NSa 4700 Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and Suite B cryptographic implementations
  • Conduct or assist with system vulnerability scanning, documentation, and resolution tracking
  • Contribute to or lead development of cybersecurity documentation, including:
    • Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
    • Interim Authorization to Test (IATT)
    • Authority to Connect (ATC)
    • Authorization to Operate (ATO)
  • Support or lead efforts in cryptographic key management related to M-Code GPS receivers
  • Assist in or manage the creation of automation scripts and configuration procedures for gateway system components
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet program-specific security requirements. Mid-level engineers may lead technical discussions with customer security personnel

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (existing clearance preferred)
  • Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity standards, STIG compliance, and vulnerability management
  • Familiarity with network security tools, firewall configuration, and cryptographic technologies
  • Ability to contribute to security documentation and configuration procedures

Clearance Requirement: Active U.S. Government security clearance or ability to obtain oneCitizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Government or defense programs
  • Hands-on experience with SonicWall NGFWs or equivalent firewall systems
  • Exposure to M-Code receivers or cryptographic key management practices
  • Working knowledge of AWS environments and cloud-based security controls

 

The typical salary pay range for this position is USD $130,000 - $180,000 per year plus a significant, company funded profit-sharing retirement savings plan. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus and a full benefits package.

 

Note: These roles are scoped as six-month contracts and are ideal for professionals looking to contribute immediately to high-impact government programs.
