Position Summary
Trend Micro is searching for a Senior Sales Engineer. The role will align with the West Sales VP, and Technical Director, as well as supporting roles in Channel, Marketing, and Customer Success. The Engineering team will work with the Sales organization to define solutions and mange customers’ technical relationships, while aligning with Partners to accelerate revenue and strategic missions. The position requires seasoned experience in the Sales Engineering vertical with a proven track record of revenue growth.
This role involves delivering technical presentations, conducting product demonstrations, and designing tailored solutions to meet client requirements. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker, has an affinity for enterprise technology, and embraces challenging our customers to achieve excellence. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a customer-centric orientation are required. Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours on occasion will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
Partner with account manager to develop and execute a strategy for success.
Manage and own your assigned set of Enterprise Customers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their business objectives and challenges by regularly engaging with customers that could include check-ins, business reviews, and proactive communication.
Regularly engage with assigned customers to understand the Customer’s Journey, business goals, security strategy, and successful outcomes, and drive value through products and services.
Engage with Channel Partners, Marketing Events, and local community groups; being a brand ambassador.
Deliver engaging technical presentations and hands-on product demonstrations to highlight the value of Trend Micro’s cybersecurity portfolio.
Architect customized solutions, including integration plans and deployment strategies, to address client-specific security challenges.
Conduct health checks and best practice assessments.
Lead proof-of-value (PoV) deployments and technical evaluations to ensure successful customer outcomes.
Respond to RFPs/RFIs and address technical objections during the sales cycle.
Create and manage escalations to resolution, working to prioritize customer requests.
Stay informed on cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and technologies.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on security best practices and industry standards. Managing escalations as they arise to ensure customer’s success.
Mentor junior sales engineers and contribute to team training and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with product management to relay customer feedback and influence Trend Micro’s product roadmap.
Drive field enablement through the creation of collateral (demos, videos, training, etc).
Provide input on product development or enhancements to existing products to product management function.
Willing to travel regularly within the US for customer facing activities, as well as marketing, and partner initiatives.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience working within Sales / Solutions Engineering / Customer-Facing roles.
Bachelor’s degree or combination of: education and pre-sales experience in Cyber Security, Cloud, Networking, Incident Response and Digital Forensics.
Demonstrated success working with technical and business decision makers and executives.
Knowledge of Public Cloud provider technologies and services. (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Broad technology experience including risk visibility and prioritization, cloud architecture, networking, security, and IT transformation.
Experience architecting/designing solutions built on-prem and cloud.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
Demonstrated ability to manage incidents and escalations and articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely to a diverse audience, including C-level executives.
Experience successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously, maintaining a high-volume pace with the ability to “switch gears” quickly.
Knowledge of the software development life cycle and software deployment practices in enterprise organizations.
Experienced with DevOps tools or Enterprise offerings of Open-Source Software.
Possesses critical thinking and proven complex problem-solving skills.
Customer first mentality; ability to empathize, proactively understand needs of enterprise customers, and build customer loyalty.
Ability to lead through influence and collaborate cross functionally.
Ability to communicate effectively with organizational leaders and technical experts alike.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Trend Micro, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The OTE (On-Target Earnings) for this role is USD $170,000.00 – $230,000.00. A candidate’s final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors to include, but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
