Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Principal Security Technical Analyst - Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for making decisions and providing technical expertise. The role requires technical skill, superior customer service, and excellent communication and writing skills. The Senior Principal is recognized as a leader and specialist within the organization, both within and beyond their own function, and is experienced at gathering and distinguishing key details, and adept at decision-making. This role encompasses a broad understanding of technology governance, risks, controls, and compliance along with modern day cyber security issues, asset management lifecycles, and data management. This position will also provide direction on roadmaps and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains visual dashboards, producing high-quality reports and documents, proofreading for accuracy and succinctness, and reviewing/approving the work of less senior team members
- Contributes as a primary resource on the IT & Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance Team, working independently with Company stakeholders and keeping leadership appropriately informed; may also interact with vendors, publishers, governmental agencies, or other companies
- Engages, leads, and mentors other staff, ensures there are back-ups and contingency in place for critical work; provides guidance and support to all-level staff, helping them develop their skills and advance their knowledge -- this includes one-on-one mentoring sessions, conducting training workshops, and offering constructive feedback
- Takes ownership to analyze and implement operational, regulatory and business mandates and legal requirements; identifies and analyzes complex, ambiguous and/or conflicting business process issues; advises department managers on development, enhancement, and maintenance issues
- Researches and advocates on new (and renewed) technologies, architectures, and products for the enterprise; may work with Supply Chain to provide subject matter expertise for contracts
- Ensures timely completion of deliverables; represents the team at meetings and review boards; and acts as a backup for the Manager and others on the team; supports team members in managing daily operations, validating objectives and KPIs; takes corrective action with KPI countermeasures if needed, and collaborates with business and technical areas to achieve goals
Additional Job Duties
- May be directly responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing controls, risk mitigation/management, compliance, audit administration and support, hardware/software/OT asset management operations; and may also at times present high impact exceptions to Company senior vice presidents
- Leverages expertise to make informed decisions and solutions for current and incoming work, demonstrating clear, thoughtful approaches and situational awareness to all leadership levels; regularly meets with stakeholders to address questions and issues, ensuring decisions and action items are documented and executed; exhibits subject matter mastery and proactive demeanor in all interactions
- Translates written technical standards to non-technical stakeholders and articulates standard gaps, using tools and templates available; responsible for working cross-functionally to ensure standards and policy documents are clear and concise; monitors standard and policy adherence, addressing compliance issues
- Own and/or participate in team collaborative efforts, such as annual team goals and planning, process continuous improvement, waste elimination initiatives, daily and weekly operating reviews. Takes an active approach at maintaining internal processes, owning gap analysis and resolution
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced understanding of IT and cyber security terminology and concepts; advanced understanding of technology/systems/configurations
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal presentation, and listening skills
- Deep understand of technology tools and databases, techniques, and concepts
- Organized and independent contributor, sets the direction for programs with leadership, product owners, and stakeholders
- Strategic thinking
- Strong knowledge of modern-day computer applications, Microsoft tools with Power BI analytics a plus, able to develop and improve database/data management and generate data reports that help drive decision-making
- Ability to work in MS Excel
- Ability to take ownership of work from start to finish, dependable to produce high-quality and timely deliverables; confident and capable to make decisions at appropriate levels with an understanding of how to engage leadership
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related field and 10+ years of combined IT or Cyber Security work experience, with a broad exposure to business and financial management; OR experience in governance, risk, compliance, and/or controls related to technology, asset management programs; OR experience managing data, databases, developing methods to track/analyze/validate accuracy
