We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk and Compliance Manager based in our Sydney office.

 

Core responsibilities of the role:

  • Technology Risk adviser for projects
  • Project Risk Assessments, including review and challenge of project risks and issues
  • Support with and coordination of early Triage and Risk Questionnaires
  • Project Assessments Checklist tracking and support
  • Technology Risk Project Administration

 

About the role 

  • Act as a project risk management adviser to projects , programs and business stakeholders, with a predominant focus on IT and Cyber
  • Conduct end-to-end risk support on selected projects and perform delivered and cloud risk assessments across CPMO managed IT and Cyber projects
  • Provide analysis of thematic risk and compliance issues arising from assessments, escalating identified issues, incidents, breaches or risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop templates and tools to support consistent application of risk and compliance frameworks
  • Support and advise the business with the development, execution and monitoring of remedial activity for operational/post-go-live IT/Cyber incidents and issues.
  • Support, perform and provide insights on risk management, identify actions to be implemented to prevent issues or incidents/losses in the future and support the business to ensure control actions are resolved in a timely manner, prior to go live
  • If identified, guide management in developing action plans to address current/emerging business and compliance risks
  • Facilitate workshops and training to undertake risk and control assessments, maintaining relevant documents, including cloud playbooks and delivered risk assessment artefacts
  • Act as an advisor on relevant technology, cloud and cyber risk matters and in the development of controls or processes to manage project risk and/or risk and compliance, in line with the risk management framework
  • Perform regular delivered risk assessments and cloud assessments as well as updates to supporting artefacts and, on a case-by-case basis, project steering committee and APRA submission deliverables
  • Support the analysis of risk and compliance information to provide meaningful insight and advice
  • Promote positive risk and continuous improvement culture

 

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in a Manager role with expertise in IT & Cyber, across risk management, compliance, internal audit, quality management, or process design.
  • Strong technical and cyber understanding, particularly in assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
  • Significant experience in audit or risk and compliance management role for a complex, matrixed general insurance and/or financial services organization
  • Proven ability to lead managing issues, incidents, and actions, including updating records and reporting data from risk management applications
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of design and operating effectiveness of controls
  • Highly developed problem solving skills, combined with a curious and creative mind set
