Security Engineer-Infrastructure

Description

Our Security Engineers work on and lead a number of post-merger security remediation activities, to ensure we can not only provide rapid remediation for in-flight integrations, but also futureproof our M&A integration approach. The role will ensure that we align all work with our strategy, policies and procedures as well as other project priorities and deadlines. Projects are wide-ranging so we break our Security Engineer team into communities. This role sits within the Infrastructure Community, supporting the migration to robust solutions for Infrastructure within projects.
This role will require active participation in and outside of your aligned community and continuous focus on process improvement and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • To swarm any identified (or unidentified) Cyber/security risks within new business acquisitions across the technical landscape of infrastructure to ensure that we are protected from threats, vulnerabilities, and risks during the early stages of a merger and acquisition process. 
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of emerging regulations and partnering with the CISO team to ensure compliance, standards, and governance are met.
  • Working closely with all Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) partners, to assess and mitigate any 3rd party vendor risks
  • Ensure all patching is managed and undertaken to remove threats, vulnerabilities, and risks associated with the infrastructure on incoming business acquisitions
  • Utilise Group Core Technologies such as Illumio, Defender/Blue Voyant SOC; Start to create zero trust rule base ready for Integration
  • Utilise interim technologies, if necessary, such as Rapid7 SOC, to provide pre-integration monitoring
  • Working closely with 3rd party expertise to support our internal teams where applicable 
  • Evaluate changes and provide solutions for Stakeholder review.
  • Adhere to and ensures the enforcement of all business policies.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including systems configuration, processes, knowledge articles, test and project plans.
  • Escalate issues to the Technical Team Lead/Project Manager/CISO
  • Work with the CISO function and wider IT Teams to ensure risks are prioritised and mitigated from a cyber security perspective.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Demonstrable project experience: ideally within an M&A or Transformation environment where you assisted migrating, integrating, or decommissioning systems, manging security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • A background in security management across an infrastructure landscape, managing and mitigating vulnerabilities and risks within the technical environments
  • Proven experience and understanding of all Window Operating Systems and Active Directory management (including Group Policy, login scripts and roles)
  • ⁠Experience of VMWare, including maintenance and provisioning
  • Working knowledge of core networking services - e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RDP, SNMP, LDAP, Kerberos
  • Proven ability to produce high quality deliverables in terms of content and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • NAS / SAN storage infrastructures
  • Experience of Automated Monitoring and Alerting
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently as required
  • Experience of cloud technologies including Azure, AWS with VMware VMC
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability in complex technical landscapes
  • Proven experience and understanding of all Window Operating Systems and Active Directory management (including Group Policy, login scripts and roles)
  • Experience of VMWare, including maintenance and provisioning
  • Working knowledge of core networking services - e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RDP, SNMP, LDAP, Kerberos
  • Proven ability to produce high quality deliverables in terms of content and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • NAS / SAN storage infrastructures
